America has always been famous for its mass produced and uninspiring lager style beers but in recent decades a quiet revolution has been unfolding. Two enormous breweries still dominate the US beer market but today there are some 2000 craft and microbreweries in the United States producing amazing flavourful and aromatic craft beers, they have reinvented beer and inspired new styles taking beer flavour and aroma to unprecedented levels. This revolution has spread far and wide, even the conservative British beer culture has changed this past five years as a direct response to the America craft beer scene.

Young's developed this range to bring the best of American craft brewing to the UK. The approach is simple, based on the same philosophy as the American craft brewing industry only the best and freshest ingredients are used, not sacrificing quality over cost. What really sets this range apart is the use of specially formulated dried yeast actually sourced from an American craft brewery, and wonderful flavoursome liquid malt extracts with progressive style hops - skillfully combined to bring you a truly inspired range of premium quality American craft beer kits.

American Amber Ale

Created as another twist to the tail f the American pale ale the Amber Ale takes all the hop attitude of the pale ale and adds another dimension with the added malt character. Originating in the Pacific North West this is a fairly recent style that is finding favour with beer aficionados is now enjoyed all over the United States.

Don't be fooled by its name this may be an amber beer but we've packed it full of hops from two parts of the globe! Pacific Jade from New Zealand and Cluster and Summit from the United States These hops are characterized by their hard hitting spicy and pink grapefruit flavour and aroma and work beautifully with the amount of malt we've been able too pack into this beer. Our specialised dark ale yeast strain also helps to lift this beer from the ordinary accentuating both the malt complexity and the hop character.

Our beer pours a fantastic amber hue with a rocky off white head, hop character oozes from the glass giving you a heady mix of spicy black currants, pine sap and grapefruit. On the palate this beer shows its mettle effortlessly melding the juicy caramel and toffee malt characters that belie its strength with a fantastic and complex hop flavour that actually leans towards juicy pine sap balanced with a good bitterness but not over bearing.
